I thought that the stock radiator position was optimal for air flow and did not want to vertically mount my radiator. Like to keep as much of the car stock as possible and not fab up a bunch of brackets, change wiring etc. Koyo's seem to work quite with some of the higher hp rotaries, but I wasn't happy with how the bottom radiator hose was going to be routed, so a friend of mine re-positioned the outlet and lengthend it. I was able to find an "off the shelf" hose from napa that just needed a little trimming on the end, and it fit great. The only thing on the car that needed to be modified is the lower mounting tab radiator support, it needed to be notched and have a gusset added:

I'm curious, what's your plan for air intake?

Part number or car application for the hose? That would help lots of us!

I would really like to utilize the open space between the radiator and the frame and build something simillar to the M2 airbox that the rotaries use, either that or do something similar to hyperion's box that draws air from above the radiator.

Do you have a good picture of how far the crank pulley sits forward, say, in relation to the frame?

Troux, not quite sure what you are asking, the second photo shows the crank pulley.

The support that held the intercooler in place has been removed, if that's what you are referring to.

To answer the crank pulley question - it was close w/the fan frame. I cut ~1/4" off the mount welded to the radiator,(its now very close to the hole opening), to give some more clearance. I actually decided to go with an aftermarket underdrive pulley,(chose the March 25% one). W/the stock pulley -its close, but ok - just watch that lower hose - his lower tube solves any concerns about a rubber hose hitting the crank pulley. No issue w/an underdrive pulley - but man was that crank bolt a b@$%h to install!

Very nice, This will give you a ton more intake options which is cool. I wouldn't consider a straight design since they have been proven to gain more HP.
