My Fd Skid Plate Getting close to finishing my swap (93 Fd w/2002LS1) and I've always been concerned that the oil pan is the lowest point on the car. I live on a ranch and the roads in Northern California frequently have pot-holes or debries. There has been a couple of people who broke their pans and I kept thinking there must be a way to offer some protection without adding a lot of weight or cutting/welding onto the subframe (Hinson). It will also allow me to use the stock undertray with a couple of added tabs.
This won't prevent damage if I run into a anvil or something huge, but it is cheap to replace and should do the job: |
