| I am still in the process of researching an Ls2 vs. Ls1 swap for my FC. From searching around the site, I have found that most Ls2 swaps retain the Ls1 throttle cable setup, and most use the GTO guage cluster. 1) Would someone explain to me why this is so. Does the Ls2 PCM require some special inputs from the dash...meaning is the GTO dash is a necessary component to the PCM? 2) Have people had success mounting the GTO dbw pedal in the FC? 3) Is there a way to retain the stock FC cluster (all guages working) if your using the Ls2 (in dbw config)? 4) has anyone documented the wiring diag for the Ls2 into the FC? I think thats all my questions for now. Thanks for the help, and if interested, check out my build so far.... Project Imola - ground up LS FC buildup. -a

2) Mounting the DBW pedal in an FC will be custom, but it shouldnt be hard. Do it before dropping in the motor so you can run bolts through the firewall if need be. 3) If the FC dash accepts an electrical speedo and tach signal like the FD, then yes, the FC dash will work. 4) No LS2 -> FC wiring documentation, but if you use the associative property of wiring you can figure it out (Im claiming credit to that name - ha). That is take the LS1 FC wiring + LS1 FD wiring + LS2 FD wiring = LS2 FC wiring. |

| thanks Burtoncr and Danzan for your replies. Seems like I was psyching myself out of using the Ls2 versus the Ls1. Fabricating the bracket is not really a problem, I was just concerned why it hasnt been done yet in an FC...if it dosent physically fit (i.e. line up properly next to the brake pedal for heel/toe), there is not much I can do. I have all the FC diagrams, just need to find the Ls2 schematics. So does anyone know why some ppl have decided to use the GTO cluster? Is it just asthetics? -a

| yes, it is just personal preferences. you do not need the LS2 schematics. you just need the pinouts. i have them on my computer at home, but i am now skiing at mammoth. i will post them this weekend, if no one else has. modifying the LS2 harness is much easier than the LS1.
