Default Newbie Threads?

I've just joined here and am looking for some intensive reading. Is there a newbie thread(s) that I can read as a starting point?

Thanks.

that brings a good point there needs to be a newbie thread for 1st gen, 2nd gen and 3rd gen sticky'd at the top of the forum so we dont have to repost all this stuff...just a thought...save time...

Are you thinking about going LS1. I have seen your car several times and actually worked on it before you bought it. I am in the process of completing my LS6/FD,we need to get together after my car runs and go cruise on a Saturday night.Welcome to the forum.

Dewain,

Yes, I'm strongly considering converting to an LS1/6 motor for my car. Making 450 whp on pump gas with loads of torque just off idle would be amazing. My brother bought a 02 Z06 a few months back, so I've been doing a lot of reading about the LS1/LS6 motor and its potential. What work did you do on my car? Things are somewhat different than when you probably worked on it last. We made 440 whp at 18 psi a few weeks ago. I probably won't pull the rotary out until it blows, but I want to be well-read on the subject before hand so that WHEN (not if ) the rotary blows, I'll be ready to make a decision and know exactly what I want. Where do you live? I'd love to stop by and check out the project.

Alan

I live just north of Tampa in Land O Lakes.Yes,I would definately say the car is different.I worked on your car with the 2 previous owners,Ramon and Steve.I helped put in a Haltech and helped swap it over to a single Turbo. It looks alot nicer than when Steve had it.Well my car is stripped down for paint but I have all of my swap parts ready to go.I figure after I mount my fender flares and finish the paint,I should be able to get the car done before the end of January. You are definatley welcome to come check it out.

Welcome to the darkside, pp.

I have set "LS1/6-FD" permanently on my to-do list.

I lost my rotary heart after losing my non-turbo '90 13B to nothing more than high mileage. Fun but fragile.

And then the maddening desire for great gobs of power and torque led me here...
