The electronics portion of any EFI swap I feel is the hardest part to do and very time consuming. Purchasing an aftermarket universal wiring harness specific to the engine you plan to use saves many... many hours of cross referencing the wiring schematics from the donor vehicle to the host vehicle and makes for a cleaner install as well. Also relocation of the battery can be built into the harness and it can be customized to suit. Those dreaming of doing an LS1 swap into and RX-7 not only shave off 70lbs+ additionally from the front end with the aluminum block vs. doing an LT1 swap or standard V8 w/ aluminum heads... but the LS1 heads with some porting work and swapping on a $350 LS6 intake manifold with bigger cam yields around 400rwhp with good exhaust. Low 11's/high 10's anyone and 25+mpg with the 6 speed? Here is the LS1 info: Howell Engine Developments, Inc. hedi@eesc.com ask for Matt part#HF79/$700.00 is in stock and could ship the same day you order it . For the Buick GN 3.8i intercooled turbo swap: http://www.casperselectronics.com Ask for John Spina contact info is on the website. He has a Buick GN powered AC Cobra! Also Painless Wiring sells an LT1 harness for around $500. Just look on SummitRacing.com as they carry the Painless products. THey may sell LS1 wiring too. Now if only someone sold a universal 13B-REW wiring harness for the '93 and newer twin turbo rotary for a 510 Datsun swap I'm been dreaming of. Makes life easier.... GNX7 ------------------ Buick Grand National powered '87 Mazda RX-7. stock turbo/D5 torque convertor with minor mods added 11.62@114mph daily driver.... soon to be in the 10's! http://www.v8rx7.com/mark.htm

Who the heck would want that crummy LS1 motor in a RX? Yeah, it's light, and it makes a ton of power, but, um, well... Ya can't get headers for the RX/LS1 yet! yeah, that's it.. That harness sounds great Mark... Rich (wanting to be the only LS1 RX-7 around, can you tell? )

Rich...... you better be quick building that LS1 RX-7 if you want to be the first. I'm sure someone on this board has it in their crosshairs as a project as well. If you go thru the hassle of having headers built you might as well have them fab some custom twin turbo or single turbo headers and run stock used GN turbos ($200 each normally). GNX7

Oh, there you go trying to get me back into the boost! I'd rather not have to build the bottom end of the motor unless I HAVE to.. Although it's not out of the question for the future, once I get bored (?) with 500hp.. With a more mild cam, and a tiny bit of boost, many, I'd be up at 600+ quickly.. Time to stud the ehads and build the bottom...or just go to an Iron 6.0L block.. *shrug* The other people will probably get me first, unless I get a good raise. Damn race team is going to take most of my spare change. I wish I didn't like EVERYTHING related to cars... I want a early 80's Toyota 4x4 to run on the trails, the RX, and race motorcycles.. too many hobbies...not enough cash.
