I felt the same way when my LS1 was sitting on the floor but believe me you will be amazed how much room there is.

The PCM on the f-body cars (looks like what your motor came out of) mounts on the passenger side of the engien bay, just under the windsheild cowl... which equates to the rear/passenger side of the motor.... about 8-10 inches away...

Don't worry, it can handle the heat, and the harness has rubber on the connectors to keep it water tight, so it will work just fine in the engine bay....

It will work in the engine compartment but I have mine in the passenger kickpanel where it originally is. Speartech didnt lengthen the harness at all for me it has plenty of wire trust me I can get you some picks tonight if you want to see it.

what years is that engine? If I wasn't mistaken the 01 and up intake manifold is the same as the LS6. Good luck and have fun, I'm in the middle of one right now, I'm just waiting for my cradle to get back from hinson, it's been three weeks.
