Default Thanks

Listen you guys have been a good deal of support in my shoving a v8 in my car. ok time for my little rant.
There is a local rx7 club. I have participated in alot of meets and thing and always i was the only fb i kinda liked it. but i was only second key due to mine was a just an fb. Then i got to racing where i beat a few 2nd gens and i became more of an outcast then my car went down. And i did not go to the meets like it mattered they just did not have me to kick around. Well last week i joking said hey i might bring the v8 car past the meet. And they began harrassing me. Calling me everything but a normal human. i just don't get it. i just was joking no i am the anti christ. about 4 guys stuck up for me. they said hey why not could be neat to see. but the guy who runs the sight started off raving that his club was not for any piston motor vehicles. So now there is a debate should i drive the v8 in and show them a smoke show. and then go out and show them up or do i just shut up finish the rear end swap get my slicks and maybe a bottle go to the drag strip andd live my life. it is kinda pissing me off. i mean people on the rx7 forum are more supporting than this prick. i mean anyone who knows me knows i like the rotary. But i built a v8 car cause it was cheap and great to drag race. And yes the project has taken alot of time but i have had fun and learned alot. But no they are so closed minded they cannot except anything different. I think the whole point to my car was just that being different.

Anyways i wanted to say thanks to all you guys for your support.
And for having an open mind.

I personally don't care what anybody thinks about anything I do. Be your own person. I have never fit in well for this reason I think.. but I don't care. As long as I am happy, to hell with everyone else.

Hey
Looks like you have at least 4 true friends over there, the rest are just sheep. Do your own thing, If I worried about what other people thought I would be sitting in a dark room some where all alone hating life.
You can't please everyone, the only one that you have to please and be accountable to is the guy staring back atcha from the mirror at the end of the day.
The hardcase giving you trouble is probably exercising control over one of the few things that he "feels" he has control of. He needs others to make him feel strong and important. He may even be a little threatened by you. Eventually more in his group will see him for the ass he really is and either straighten him out or start leaving his little club. This will work itself out.

People gravitate to strong willed individuals, take the high road do your own thing and you will make a lot of real friends. Above all enjoy the fruits of your labor.
"Follow a trail or cut your own", don't remember who said it but, it makes sense. The trails I cut for myself have benefited me more and were more fun than the crowded easy trails.

You're among friends here.
Jim

your just like me! i'm into rotaries, even honda motors, but their just not as powerful as V8s, like i always say "the bigger the better" while rotaries and high revving motors are fun, just their arn't so great for drag racing. Plus building a V8 is cheaper than building a rotary or japanese type motors, pistons and rods alone for force induction honda motors are like 1.3k! while with v8 it's about ~900 for EIGHT PISTONS AND RODS, and you get more out of it.

rotaries are great if done right, but nothing compare to raw torque.

Hey guys
got this via e-mail today, seemed appropriate for this thread.

You are not going to get respect talking. The only way to get respect is to show them. Is there any way to get some of the rotary diehards to come to the meet at Reynolds? Wouldn't it be nice to line up next to a couple of them or better yet, strap them in the passenger seat for a pass? The look on their faces would be priceless.

Having a v-8 in an RX-7 is like walking into a soup kitchen and yelling "I'm a millionare!"

People are gonna hate you because they envy you.
