Buying cars, engines, etc via private sale like ebay. What is the safest and best way to send say $4000. I know the safest is handing cash in return for the product in person but sometimes this isn't fesable(sp). So what do I use paypal? Is a moneyorder safer?

for big money, there are a couple of escrow sites, ebay has some links to one i'm sure. that would probably be safest. paypal can be dangerous for large $ amounts. i use paypal all the time, but i would limit it to less than $1k myself.
