Okay, I've been hanging out here for a short while and thought I'd add 2 more cents. I recently started a 5.0 conversion on a 1985 GSL. It's fun.. I just wish it wasn't July. So far the old engine, trans are out. Crossmember reversed, and mounts are in place. The Lincoln donor car had been underwater, so alot wasn't salvagable. I'm rebuilding a 5.0 to go into it. I'm also rebuilding the AOD trans out of the lincoln. Engine is simple, stock rebuild on the block, STD bearings and rings after honing. That's all done. A new HV oil pump finishes up the bottom end. I'm using an E303 cam, with GT40 X aluminum heads (yeeehaww). I'm also using a cheap arse Typhoon intake (what a peice of junk).. I'm having to rethread all the holes on the typhoon, they are some funny chinese thread that is something between metric and english. Weird. I might wind up having to helicoil it all. Blah. Anyway.. here are a few pictures, not much yet. The only thing I got done today was getting the B&M Megashifter installed (without trim yet - ran out of patience and sweat). http://www.highrpm.net/photos/index....ngtNy8=&page=1 dale

thx. fwiw, i completely redid the interior shortly before the 12a blew an oil seal. it came out really nice. the only thing i didn't touch was replacing the crapet. on my list way down at the bottom. i should also say.. this car has power steering and AC.. BOTH of which I plan on keeping as part of the conversion. :-d dale

Looks good phooka. On your B&M, where do the cables route? It looks like you had to twist it a little to the right to clear something or is that just an optical illusion? Toughguy

Cable goes towards the front of the car at a slight downward angle. I didn't twist it at all, maybe just looks that way in the picture. I'll try to take better pix of it close up later. It has a ratchet shifting mode which is entirely new to me. I think it's gonna be a blast. I've never been an automatic kinda guy.. this will be my first 'auto' car anything like this. dale
