Default Possible Forum Changes

Having only one forum that includes all types of RX-7 engine conversions for all 3 generations of RX-7s has worked well so far to keep the forum moving and fresh with posts.

However, it now seems like some of the original members are unhappy with the fact that more nontechnical posts are appearing on this forum and they are leaving the forum as a result.

After some thought:

The guys at TorqueCentral.com seem willing to give us another sub forum. Maybe we should have 2 forums, one strictly for technical questions, and the other to post everything else that is currently being posted in this forum. However, I'm not sure what to do with the RX-7 "for sale" items.

I figure the best way to handle this is to let the people who have
made this forum a success (you) make the decision.

I'm happy either way, but I don't think there is enough activity to justify multiple forums - just more placess to check.

Anybody that leaves a forum because they don't have the strength to ignore a person or persons is a weak minded individual.

I like it the way it is. If somebody can't hit their freakin BACK button because of a post that they don't wanna read, then they have problems that go WAY beyond normal.

I'd hate to see what some of these guys would do if they ever visited MY message board.

I for one think it's a great idea. When I first found this forum I was extremely grateful for all the information gladly provided by everyone but lately it's not been so hot. I'm on here for all the technical assistance I can give and receive and the bs posts have no place in a technical forum. And yes John I agree we need to get people like Jim and Chris back on here as they've been there, done that and are always eager to share their experiences with this hotrodding sickness we all share.

I too, think it is fine the way it is. What has happened recently is by no means justification to split everything up. I agree that losing people with automotive knowledge is bad but just loosen up a bit..

I spent night after night reading all the technical info I could locate before I made a decision to V8 my RX7. I have no use at all for opinions that are substantiated from one bias or another. They add nothing to my pursuit of building the best car possible gleened from the advice of those who have already taken that path. Wisdom is learning from the experience of others. That is what the goal of the "Technical Discussion" forum should be. I am most definately in favor of a separate forum.
my .03 cents

I vote on split forums, not that i have a huge problem with the forum as is, but it seems that some of my questions (though may seem stupid or ignorant to some of you) do not get answered, while posts like 'BOVs are gay' gets three pages worth
