Default Everybody read this

After reading that totally useless post about BOVs and what not i see that this place.A small section of a messagebvoard has seemingly turned into our own little whore house..This is a technical section for converted RX7s NOT BITCH WINE AND CRY.

I beleave this as well as every UBB has a loungh where a post like that belongs..This is a public board where people come to for information..Information about converting an rx7 to a differnt engine..The last thing we as the only few of this elite sect need to do is come off like jerks..Funny how i get an email about a nonmember who has a dead FD thinking of converting..In the email he staes that the site looks like a bunch of lame assed Kias (Know It Alls)..This is comming from a guy who has a 10 sec civic with full interior and a 9.80 RX7..

Its a shame that someone can take a car and let it be used to stir up shit on the net..How lame assed is that..Specifcally You (name removed by moderator) ..Talk about stupid, your the one that is racing bikes on teh street..Thats beyond lame..

Everyone has there taste yes but this section of the board is not for this type of posting..WE have bandwidth here that could be used for better more productive things..

And im sure im gonna have some flack for this but i could care less..This is from a guy under 30 years old who has had a garuonteed more swapped cars than 10 members here put together..Imports yes as ive had the 2nd cartech 13b turbo kit on my old 1st gen year back when you could actually get corky bell to talk on the phone for hours..From my 10 DSM that was daily driven to the 18* small block ive run ive seen it all and done it all..In the end it still makes power..Something that is easily forgotten when you finish your car..Yes you feel like the supreme god of street wars but get a grip before a pole grips your ass around it from your ego and need to prove your self..

You guys better thank these so called ricers because if you attended the last few sema and pri shows you would see that imports are keeping this sport alive..Look where comapnys like edelbrock and moroso are turning to..I dont see any of you guys buying motown blocks and so forth..No one here is preaching positive and thats BS..Keep in mind that this is our only place to hang and help each other out..We have to welcome opthers..Flameing the rotary guys doesnt help them see the light..Next time you meet one instead of opening your mouths open your car door and take them for a ride..It works a lot better than trying to argue..

I'm 55, and have been doing it since age 16.
My response was friendly, but you are not in the running.

I agree Philly. Once in a while everybody gets a little overzealous about something. It is sometimes not easy to ignore all the trash talk about what we do with our cars. Nobody here goes out and swaps a rotary for a V8 with the sole intent to flaunt it at the purists. In most cases it is they who seek us out just to let us know it is their opinion that we are doing something completely immoral and blasphemous in some cases.

So maybe we get a little revenge now and then and yes we even take it out on each other on occasion but for you to make it sound like we should be ashamed because one person who admitedly knows nothing of who we are, came to the forum and read one or two threads that didn't quite measure up to his standards????? If that was the case then this person must not be a member of ANY forum because we all visit the "other" sites now and again and I have to say this is the friendliest, most proffessional one of all! How many times has someone here been warned by a moderator let alone banned? I'm not saying we're angels, just a bunch of guys who like fast cars. Take the guilt trip elsewhere because I don't think it's deserved here.

Calling us lame assed kias is LAME. Like me going over to the Blue Oval Tech and calling them all idiots because they have had a Ford/Chevy rivalry since forever. I would be sized up as nothing more than a shit disturber and forgotten instantly.

Sooner or later you will need to face the truth and that is that there will always be a rivalry between us and the rotary purists. Just try to remember which side you're on when you do because we are not the bad guys here! The difference is we STILL help them!

Toughguy

Actually ... this "V8 RX7" forum was generously provided by TorqueCentral.com because my website "V8RX7.com" is on a server that won't allow UBB software.

Note: If you go to the "Technical Discussion" menu: http://www.torquecentral.com/forumdi...p?s=&forumid=3, it says "message forum for V8RX7.com". ALL other forums on TorqueCentral.com are for TorqueCentral.com and they have been gracious enough to welcome us into "their" other forums.

Since this V8 RX7 forum is the only forum exclusively for us Hybrid RX-7 guys, I tend to be more relaxed about moderating the topics. (example: I allow "For Sale ads" if they are RX-7 related) However, I'm growing concerned about the growing number of personal attacks on forum members by forum members.

I just want to remind everyone that we are guests of TorqueCentral.com.

Starting now, I will edit posts that are directed negatively towards other members (I removed the name in post above).

As long as we are (bitch, WHINING, and crying) may I suggest that we all address the grammar issue. You people are killing me. I can see a mistake or three but this is crazy. As a professional automotive instructor I try to teach my students how to pull themselves out of the "mechanic" fray and into the "technician" realm. If we can not use the english language correctly then maybe we should not type. And for the record, you are right about keeping the trash in the right thread.

My .02 worth...........

WEll put philly. This is the only place I have ever foudn on the net to discuss building and maintaining a v8 rx7, and im gonna stab in the dark and say there are maybe 35-40 members that actually post frequently and have done/are doing a v8 swap (GNX guys you know I include you too), that is really not a whole lot. There are not a lot of people I can talk to anywhere else about tips and trick on how to do this swap. I mean honestly, if we fuck this place up with a bunch of bragging and flaming, where the fuck are people like me going to be then. Vert and Philly have forgotten more about engine swaps than I will probably ever know, and I am not at a place in my life where i can spend thousands of dollars and hundreds of hours doing trial and error, so i perfer to keep our little sanctuary of information just that, a goddamn sanctuary of information. There is a lounge and we are all welcome to post there with whatever crap it is we want to talk about, so use it.

Can someone please explain this to me? I don't understand how someone bragging about their car takes away the positive aspects of this forum?

I visit a lot of other forums and there is a lot of useless junk on all of them, so I read what interest me and ignore the rest of the junk. Nobody is forcing anyone into reading every post in this forum.

When your are talking about cars, big egos and exaggerations have to be expected. Technical questions are still getting answered on this forum so who cares if someone brags about how big their genitals are once in a while?

Do you guys really want me to be like the moderators in the RX7club.com forum and close, move and/or delete threads just because I don't like the topic?

Case in point:

I recently had someone PM me offering to pay me if I banned a member from this forum. So I went back a reread their posts and found the insults flying back and forth equally from both members. Since I didn't ban the person, I have noticed the person complaining hasn't posted since. So what am I supposed to do? censor topics and ban people based on peoples whims? Sorry people, I'm just not that big of a fascist

Is there any way we could have a "Lounge" area for us. We have become a family here, and a family is not a family without laughter, fighting, b*tching, and a good ole butt kicking every once in awhile. Some of us have grown pretty close, and taking our candid conversations over to the TC lounge kinda makes it loose its zest, cause most of us dont check those threads very often.

Just my question of the day........
