It's cool when that works, it typically only works with lower mile engines with close enough tolerences to keep them in place. On higher mileage engines they won't stay and will fall into the pan without dowels or magnets. (learning from my own mistakes )

Making headway:

3:73's installed in the Cobra setup. Hope to have that knocked out by today... meaning cradle install and welding with pumpkin in place. Got my forged 300M axles with chromemoly 31 spline inners from the Driveshaft Shop with beefy 3.5 aluminum driveshaft and Spicer 1350 Ujoints yesterday.

Tomorrow want to knock out rollbar install and fuel system. I'm running a twin intank Walbro 340 (255lph) setup. Plan is to squirt a 100hp nitrous setup to crack into the 9's or whatever pills it takes to get there. More fuel the better.

Then need to do a ton more work before 9/25:
1) dry sump oil system lines with oil cooler setup
2) cooling system with Taurus fan (running a Howe racing radiator with surge tank)
3) exhaust (dual 3", (2) 3" cats, into single 4") Buying a TIG and doing it myself.
4) alignment
5) engine wiring harness install
6) Penske coilovers- having new top mounts made with pillowballs by a friend (what it came with was complete cobbled together garbage for top mounts)
7) PowerSteering lines
8) 929 Master Cylinder upgrade
9) a/c system if I have time

Rear wheels are 18x12.5" +50 (baby got back)

Why aren't you swapping the LSD? A TrueTrac is only $400 (NEW DETROIT TRUETRAC FORD 8.8 POSI 31 SPLINE) and would be a big improvement over the TracLock. You could also upgrade to a DPI for about double I think. With that much rubber in the back, I think a torsen style LSD would help with rotation greatly and you might as well do it now.

Do I understand you correctly that you are running the Hinson trans mount?
If so, please, please, re-inforce the mounts,(two small bolts on each side). The side opposite the big support bolts through the trans tunnel will rip the metal over time - and most of us are running far less power than you.
There are some threads about the metal ripping - I can link them if your not familiar. Mine is currently ripped and I don't drag race, and really am fairly easy w/respect to my clutch work. Its just a poor design to utilize those mounting points.

The thread about the metal ripping is from marks(gnx7) old car He knows all about it.

Looks good mark. Did you get anything done on sunday? Let me know when your tail lights get there.

Yea I think Mark was one of the first to have the trans tunnel tear.

I plan to change out the LSD... just time isn't on my side right now. Trying to get it done by 9/25. I plan to run that DPI unit after hearing some feedback from King Kyle with his racecar. I have 3:73's in place and see how I like that gear ratio.

I will be running a Samberg Fabrication trans mount. More exhaust clearance and stronger mounting placement.

I've ripped the passenger side of the Hinson Kmember (bad batch of welds in 2005.... since remedied... no weld penetration), Torque Arm (no penetration on this part... remedied in new batch.... snapped clean off at the diff mounting area), and Trans Mount. The trans mount ripped the floor apart as the mounting area is only spot welded twice... and then actually started shearing apart the mount as well. This was all around 2005 with a problem weld batch which has since been remedied. I only drag raced a few times... mainly on the street and road racing.

Made some progress: Cobra diff installed with provisions for oil cooler (will add system later), stock hard fuel lines removed (new fuel setup being installed today on Monday), mounted engine accessories/intake manifold etc. Built axles (Raceshop forged inner 31 spline CV axles, RaceShop forged 300M axles, mated to stock FD outer CV axles with upgraded HD CV "ball cage." Should be unbreakable. Test fitted radiator and figured out how I want to mount it with lower underbelly tray on. Deciding upon a 4" cold air intake with 90% elbows OR a ram air style Vararam intake. This also affects how radiator is mounted.

Issues: figured out RacingBrake rear ET500 pad material is too thick and won't allow disc to turn due to lack of clearance. Put in some used pads to figure this one out. Didn't like my welds when doing the Samberg Fab Cobra kit (mine is a '93 and requires and extra bracket on each side at the rear) so I ground them down and laid new beads. Took more time than I thought but they are bombproof.

EDIT: I played around with the rear pads some more and there are "nubs on the back that need to fit properly fit in the rear caliper piston as it has indents for them to fully seat." Without doing this the pads will bind against your rotor. Everything is good now!

Need to order parts! Lots of them. Been on the horn this morning since 7:30am. 11 days left and I'm feeling the pressure.

What cooler and pump setup are you going to use for the rear? Are you going with and electric pump or maybe a belt driven style off the DS like the cup cars use?

Also I have heard about the 929 master upgrade what all is it? Is it a strait swap out and where do you get it?
