Default My 1993 ls1 Rx7 project

Well I have been working on this car for some time now!
First the twin turbos went out so it went to a big single and then the rotary went out on me so i gave up on rotary and bought a ls1. I just got it put in as of a few days ago.
Here are a few pics:

Looks stock

I was wondering what that piece on the tranny mount, along the inside of the tranny tunnel is for? The one on the right side of the picture with the three holes.

Im in Missouri.
Does anyone know the minimum CCA to turn a stock ls1 over? I thought about trying to use my odyssy battery because it fits nicely in the rear bins and worked great for my rotary.

The bar with three holes is on the drivers side of the tranny mount are there for you to drill through the tunnel and use big washers to help secure the mount.

Keep those pics coming. Love the air filter... Where can I get one :-)

Isnt it fairly thin sheet metal behind the tab with the three holes? I would think that if the mount ripped out of the 4 stock bolt holes that those three bolts in the side of the tunnel would rip out too and leave a nice speed hole in the side of my car. I could be wrong though.
any input to my theory?

I was hooking up the throttle cable today and i noticed the cable guide on the ls1 (the piece where the cable attaches to turn the butterfly) hangs up on the cable itself just before half throttle. I flipped the cable bracket over like most other people have done. Has anyone else had this happen? Im thinking about making a new bracket but if i can avoid the hassle of fabing one up...

It's to prolong the life of your tranny mounting points. I don't think it will ever move enough to actually rip a hole, unless you keep driving it after the other mounts have broken.
