Default 86 FC with Turbo 5.0

Hey guys, haven't posted much on here. Figure this would be a good place to start. I picked up a 86 auto for $300, and im trading the engine (blown coolant seal) and trans for a turbo II subframe and diff. So far i've only collected some parts and pulled the engine, but i'll keep this updated Now for the pics!

Turbo i plan to use. Been unable to find a compressor map for this one.

There's a guy on the board, not very active, but he's got a T76 with his stroked 5.0. I think it's stroked to 347. His name is azkickr. Look for his threads, he's got some pics.

It's a KKK turbo that came off of some sort of Freightliner truck.

For a 5.0 the best bet for JY turbos is a twin t3 setup from a manual supercoupe. You want the AR63 exhaust turbine version not the 48 btw. A holset HX-35 is a little small for a 5.0 motor. Unsure what that one is. Suffice to say, I wouldn't go using a turbo you know nothing about.

That would be true, if it was an HX-35

I will. The car $300, the engine was $20, trans was $50, and the turbo was free. I'm using what I have laying around, if i blow it up no big deal. I have two extra engines laying around, #42 injectors, and a welder. I'm set

Yeah true, if you blow it up you can just pull it, pick up a new used 5.0 shortblock for like $100, put it in and be on your merry way. That's what I love about the 5.0s. Dirt cheap, easy as hell to work on, rock solid and tons of potential.
