| Oh..I forgot a brief history. I come from a 1999 Trans Am and a 1997 Corvette. Both cars were cool, I liked the vette quite a bit more though, but neither car gave me exactly what I wanted in a sports/muscle car, so here I am kind-of building my own. I really like the size, and no-compromise sports car engineering of the Rx-7 as I feel that most muscle and sports cars cars have gotten overly fat and have softer suspensions. They are engineered more for the overall masses rather than the niche group that they appeal to. Anyway, I will post more pics of my build as they come. I am now working on the transmission cross member (it is custom, and I should have it done this weekend). At your guys' advice I already have the C4 driveshaft with adapter flange (should also be done this weekend) I do want more power than stock even though as the car is, it should run a bit quicker than my vette did. I probably will go FI. I don't necessarily need massive h.p. but would like to be able to at least hang with a stock LS7 Z06

| Are those self fabbed motor mounts? What did you take into consideration when designing those?

I really only considered strength (I hope they are strong), ease of manufacture. I used the stock upper portion (came with the donor engine) and that they would work with the stock holes in the subframe. I can't take the credit as they were inspired by a member on here who already made ones and posted his data. I just took another path as I had the extra z28 mounts. I will however be making a completely different trans. mount as I felt that I wanted more strength in mine and more room above the support so I knew without a doubt that I made as much clearance I could for the exhaust to run over the crossmember.

I thought they fit the cars character well. As you can see though, I had a clearance issue with the grease caps that I still need to work out.

| I had the same issue on my wheels. I was able to shorten the cap 1/4" or so without it interfering with the end of the spindle or nut. It was done by cutting the end of the cap off, cutting a disc out of 20ga. mild steel to replace the section cut and tig welded in place. It could be done with a mig if you are careful. This was enough for my center caps to fit, it may be enough for yours also.
