Default FD w/ Corvette LS1 :)

Okay guys, I finally got some pictures of the car. Still have a few things left to do like clean up the interior and finish mounting the battery box but otherwise it drives well and i have no complaints. This first set of pics is just the exterior. I will try to get some more pics soon.

These next pics are after pulling out the rotary. I started the swap back in November last year. It only took 9 months, alot of friends, a professional shop to finish the wiring i couldn't get, another shop to fix everything the first shop screwed up and here i am...

I forget the techinal name for that piece of metal but the rotary twisted that thing really good. Thank god Hinson gave me a new one for the swap

During the swap...

n72201944_30549397_5317.jpg
This was the first attempt to drop the engine in. I didn't know it at the time but the corvette headers prevented me from clearing the steering column. Not that I'm complaining: it forced me to get longtubes!

Clutch. Need i say more?

Sadly, this picture was almost identical to how Precision Import Repair left my car after they "finished up my wiring." I drove it for all of 2 miles before the engine developed rod knock. Apparently PIR knew about it but figured it would "work itself out." From there i towed the car to Horsepower Research and Development and was able to get them to fix PIR's mistakes. These mistakes included forgetting to prime the oil system, resting wires on the headers, and forgetting to insulate wires so they wouldnt spark against the frame.

I'm not even joking when i say that i wasted 3 hours of my life trying to get that stupid master cylinder attached. what a pain in the butt

This is how the engine looks now. I currently have ~1500 miles and 3 months on the car with not one problem!

This is the engine with the old single pass radiator and the dinky odyssey battery. I've since changed out both.

I actually have a buddy who's uncle makes custom cams for old hot rods. Apparently he does good work so i might just drop by his place and check them out. But yeah, ebay is good. Here is a pic of the new fire extinguisher. I still have to add the hoses that connect to the engine bay but i think it looks cool (even if it is impractical lol.)

Nothing says race car like a fire extinguisher!

That should be a fun setup.

Are you running a C5 engine wiring harness and PCM? I thought the coil packs on the Vette and a few other sensors (TB etc) were specific to the C5 harness if you actually switched over to the Fbody style.

The Corvette accessories clear everything? No massaging required?

In this picture... is that an Fbody oil pan? It looks like a 5.3/6.0 truck front sump style.
