Default Fortune LSx build

I'm new to the forum, but I've been working on this LSx FD for what seems like forever. Honestly, its taken a lot longer than I had anticipated, but I'm having a blast along the way. I hope I don't get flamed for this one too bad...
but I'm doing something just a bit "ricey" to my build. If you see the body kit, you'll know what I'm talking about. So here are some pics...I hope I do this right.

Here's how she arrived

very

cleaned her up a bit

and then got rid of a 1.3L paperweight

then I got a few boxes in the mail from Japan...

But they'll have to wait their turn to be installed...there's mechanical work to be done first...

Well that's where I'm at for now...hopefully she'll start coming along a little bit faster now. Look forward to hearing what you guys think.

Looks like some good work.

Solid axle 4link...are you making it a drag car or just a very serious street machine?

And what rear hatch is that? Split window?

As for the drag racing/street question...it's going to be more oriented towards drag racing and maintain the bare minimum for street driving. You can't really see it in the pics, but the LS1 in there right now is matted up to a TH400 3speed automatic.

Swolbynos is correct, the hatch is part of the Veilside Fortune kit. Love it or hate it, the body kit does evoke serious emotions. It just pained me to see such an exotic looking body kit on such a slow vehicle. So I figured I'd make one that looked fast and is fast. I'm thinking of nixxing the 2tone and going with a solid black though.

The motor as of right now is just a stock LS1, and I'll just be using that to get the project rolling and work out the kinks. If all goes according to plan, after she's turning, braking, and accelerating under her own power she'll go off to the body shop to get the kit installed and during that time I can build a proper motor for her. Something with a few more cubes and maybe some forced induction. I honestly have to see how the body kit matches up to an LSx motor to see what kind of room I'm dealing with.

Bodykit definitely isn't my thing, but done right, I'm sure you'll love it.

Your work elsewhere looks nice so far. I'm looking forward to seeing how it turns out. Good luck.

I can't wait to see the body kit on the car. I hated it at first, but I've learned to like it. It makes the car look like an exotic super car. Hopefully you'll paint it a 1 tone color instead of the 2 tone scheme that others have done.

Sounds like an awsome project but the body kit reflects something more like a show...I couldnt see spending that much money on a kit for a drag car..however its going to look insane. Good work so far.
