I Guess i will make a build thread/intro since i haven't yet

The names Mat, or M'Talon, or baker, or trybal i guess?

I am a northwesterner. Currently in seattle but will be moving back to bend oregon!

Well ive always been a rwd kinda guy. Started with older supras, moved onto the 50 million 240sx's i've had up untill recently. Well I had a fc shell for sometime. Well it was more a somewhat built fc with a blown engine

90 TII 70k miles
hks t04e turbo kit
hks everything electronic.
r-magic aero kit "old and dated"
yada yada.. Rotary.. blah

Well after this car sitting for awhile i bought a new engine, put it in. Ran the car for about 2 days and decided i didn't like it. I bought the car non running and it was my first time driving it. So i sold the complete swap, with electronics and turbo and everything.

Then sold my s13 with sr20 in it just recently. Now the journey begins

I was going to wait to start my build thread untill I had everything sitting in my garage. Well to bad.

Well now the engine is out. And im on the hunt for a ls1. I am doing this over the winter time, so i want to do things right and not rush like i have done before on previous sr20's and 240 builds. My family has always been a v8 family. Mostly fords but v8 non the less. So i feel i should honer my family

Plans: Things to come

-LS1 w/t56
-intake/JTR headers/full exhaust "like everyone else"
-Hinson mounting kit
-oil cooler
-6pt cage, non of that bs bolt in crap that i had in there before
-New Cluster with all autometer gauges
-Get it running!

I know there isn't much here yet to look at and just a bunch of non sense garbage to read. But it will be my long and slow winter build up and i hope to have it Sliding around by January!

well i must say that is a nice looking fc you got there. i am digging the headlights. i know what you mean about the ford v8 family everyone in my family that is or was into v8's are/were all fords. i am now chevy beating there @$$3$ welcome and keep us updated

Yeah, i have 4 hella halogen lamps sitting in my house waiting to get fabricated in. So we will see how that looks :-D

If anyone recommends a place to get a ls1 drop out let me know. So far ebay seems like the best deal.

Interested in seeing this progress. Which mounting kit are you going with and why? One place you might want to try Car-Part.com--Used Auto Parts Market. I've seen 02 LS1's going from 2500-6500 on there. I'm excited to see some close to me. If anyone else could chime on this as well I'd be interested in other sources.

I found my engine on ebay, but I actually purchased it outside of ebay so that the seller wouldn't have to pay the fees and he could get it to me cheaper.

It took me 6 weeks to find a drivetrain I was happy with... I got frustrated with ebay and started watching both Craig's list and car-parts.com. Finally found one from a car recycler off of car-parts.com. Took a week to negotiate price and components.

What a PITA. Now the fun really begins.
