Default Can JTR accommodate the Lingenfelter adapter?

First off, these 1 3/4 long tubes are absolutely beautiful... almost sculpture.

However, there seems to be a trend among those building FDLS1s to use a Lingenfelter oil filter adapter for adding a remote oil cooler. In nearly every case, some grinding has been required in order to obtain clearance with the headers. In my case, even after extensive grinding, there is only about 1-16 inch clearance with the driver's side header.

Perhaps JTR could tweek the design to provide just a little more clearance, without causing any clearance issues with the frame, steering shaft, fuel lines, etc.

Just my $.02

i think the headers are different in between each batch so that some can fit some can't. so if they change it it will become some fit in the car some interfere with the frame rails/steering shaft....

I think you're right. After fully torquing down my JTR's, my adapter barely clears, enough to slide header wrap through the gap and tie it, but that's it.

i had to grind a pissload off my adapter. i'm honestly suprised it holds... i think i have 1/8 inch clearance now. it's all in the luck of the draw on the headers.

I've got 1/4" clearance with 1 7/8, just received my headers two weeks ago....

Guess I should build a heat shield or put on some heat reflective tape...
